5 Best Swimming Lessons in Winnipeg That Kids Love and Parents Trust
Last month, my neighbor mentioned how their toddler was ready to learn how to swim. But he and his wife were stuck staring at a dozen browser tabs, trying to figure out which local pool to entrust their young one.
Since I helped them find one of the top tutors in Winnipeg a couple of months ago, he asked for my assistance again. We scouted around for places that provide a warm, safe environment, patient instructors, and flexible schedules.
Finally, we were able to identify the top-tier swimming programs that are a cut above the rest. They found one that their daughter enjoyed very much—in fact, they could hardly get her out of the water!
To help you find the right fit, here’s our list of the best swimming lessons in Winnipeg that local parents love.
How much do swimming lessons cost in Winnipeg?
In Winnipeg, swimming lessons typically cost $150 to $190 per program for group classes, which usually run for 6 to 8 weeks. This works out roughly to $20 to $30 per lesson.
Private one-on-one lessons are more expensive and often range from $40 to $80 per class.
1. Alpha Swim Club

Address: 999 Sargent Ave
Contact: [email protected]
Business hours:
- Mon – Sat: 10 AM–9 PM
Alpha Swim Club is an awesome starting point for families who want to move past basic paddling and get into advanced swimming skills.
They make sure every swimmer aged 6 and up builds a solid foundation by focusing on body position and mobility from day one. This structured approach is a nice alternative to those repetitive, slow-moving lessons.
While the technical coaching is top-tier, we heard isolated reports of rude coaches, which is worth keeping in mind.
Format-wise, we like that they offer group swimming lessons for beginners and athletes, so both levels can learn at their own pace.
And when it comes to pricing, make sure to check their ongoing online deals. You can snag up to 15% off if you’re lucky!

Everything seems perfect in terms of instruction, but one thing you need to know is that the walkways around the pool seem to be incredibly slippery.
