1. Tots Corner Montessori

Address: 128 Red Spruce Road
Contact: 204-880-8732 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
Tots Corner Montessori gives young learners a gentle introduction to independence, curiosity, and hands-on learning.
Children aged 2 to 6 move through Montessori activities at their own pace, which can make the classroom feel calm rather than rushed.
An AMI-qualified educator leads the programme across Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Culture.
Materials like sandpaper letters and the Pink Tower keep lessons tactile, purposeful, and much more interesting than endless worksheets.
There’s room to move, too, with daily outdoor play whenever the weather cooperates. On those very Winnipeg days when it doesn’t, indoor dance keeps little feet busy.
The main catch is the age range, since infant care isn’t offered. Families with younger siblings may need to juggle a second childcare arrangement.
“Balance between fun, hands-on learning and academic development”
Moving our child to Tots Corner Montessori has been one of the best decisions we have made. The Montessori approach provides a wonderful balance between fun, hands-on learning and academic development. We have seen a noticeable difference in our child’s learning, confidence, and overall development since starting here.
The environment is welcoming, clean, and thoughtfully designed for children to learn and explore. The staff are caring and supportive, and we truly appreciate the positive environment they have created.
We are very happy with our experience at Tots Corner Montessori and would highly recommend it to other parents…

“Superb attention to detail and care”
…every single parent has similar feedback. They are amazed by Miss Shanase and Mr. Roshan.
They are very patient, kind, and supportive teachers. It’s a very clean, organized school, and the children play outside in a safe yard multiple times a day. Their skills for teaching math and reading techniques are outstanding. I never questioned if my child was safe, fed, dressed appropriately for outdoors, napped enough, etc. I always knew they were in good hands at Tots Corner. Miss Shanase looks after your child like it was her own with superb attention to detail and care. 10/10 recommend.

2. Mighty Minds Montessori & Child Care Inc.

Address: Unit 8, 2835 Pembina Highway
Contact: 204-261-5135 | [email protected] | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–6 PM
Mighty Minds Montessori suits working parents who need longer weekday care without skimping on early learning. It runs from 7:30 AM to 6 PM, which gives busy families a little more breathing room.
Managing Director and teacher Vanathy Shanmugam brings 17 years of experience, along with AMI training and ECE II and ECE III qualifications.
The centre pairs Montessori learning with spacious activity rooms and an adjoining play area for children who need room to move.
Yoga and music add some variety to the daily routine, keeping things from feeling too classroom-heavy. It’s a nice balance of structured learning and active play.
One thing to keep in mind is that the centre isn’t a subsidized institution. It’s also closed on statutory holidays, so some families may need backup care.
“Strong and nurturing start to their educational journey”
…Every day, we could see his growth and progress.
We truly believe that attending Mighty Minds played an important role in helping him secure a spot at the school we wanted for him.
Compared to many other childcare centres, the Montessori closes only for statutory holidays, which was a great advantage for us since we didn’t have to worry about long spring, summer, or Christmas breaks.
Based on our extremely positive experience, we highly recommend Mighty Minds Montessori to any parent looking to give their child a strong and nurturing start to their educational journey.

3. Richmond Kings Nursery School

Address: 933 Summerside Avenue
Contact: 204-275-6239 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM
Program schedule: 3-year-old program — Tuesday/Thursday; 4-year-old program — Monday/Wednesday/Friday.Morning session: 9 AM–11:15 AM; Afternoon session: 1 PM–3:15 PM
Not every preschool needs to feel like a full-day production. Richmond Kings Nursery School keeps things deliberately simple, with part-time programmes for three- and four-year-olds built around play, music, crafts, and group activities.
Certified ECE teachers guide children through routines designed to build confidence, independence, and social skills.
The four-year-old programme leans into kindergarten readiness, so little learners can ease toward elementary school without feeling rushed.
We love that parents get clear programme schedules and registration information, which makes planning a bit less of a puzzle.
The morning and afternoon sessions also give families some choice without stretching the day too long.
That said, care is strictly part-time, with two weekly sessions for three-year-olds and three for four-year-olds. It won’t suit parents who need full-day, Monday-to-Friday childcare.
“Safe, warm, nurturing, fun, and educational”
Our daughter absolutely loved her time at RKNS. Every morning she would ask, “Is it preschool day today?” The program is wonderful, and the teachers are truly exceptional. We saw tremendous growth in her learning, confidence, and social skills throughout her time there. If you’re looking for a preschool that is safe, warm, nurturing, fun, and educational, we highly recommend RKNS. ❤️

4. Nova Montessori Preschool

Address: C-3311 Pembina Highway
Contact: 204-261-0647 | (P) +1 (204) 599-5669 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
Nova Montessori Preschool mixes child-led learning with enough structure to keep little minds happily busy. Its programmes cover ages 2 to 6, with older children following Manitoba curriculum requirements alongside Montessori-style learning.
There’s plenty beyond the basics, including cooking, music, science activities, and hands-on projects. A secured outdoor play area spanning more than 3,000 square feet gives energetic kids room to stretch their legs, too.
The combination of Montessori learning and broader enrichment gives children plenty of ways to explore without making every activity feel like a lesson.
Families can choose from several Winnipeg locations, which may make the daily commute a little less heroic.
The catch is that extended care costs extra. If you need earlier drop-offs or later pickups regularly, those added fees can quickly nudge the monthly bill higher.
“Warm caring place”
…The teachers are simply amazing. They care so much and are invested in your child’s well-being. Geetha, the director, is wonderful and very responsive if you ever have any concerns. I really liked the app they use so you can get pictures of what your child did during the day. The curriculum is excellent with lots of room for play as well, and my twins seem very well prepared for kindergarten. Nova is truly a warm, caring place where you feel comfortable leaving your children. We will miss it very much!

“A very good preschool”
A very good preschool in the south part of the city. All the teachers and staff are very good. My son attended for a short time and was very happy there. Teacher Mohinder is very kind and caring. She helped my son adjust to the new environment very easily. Really appreciate her effort! My son still remembers her as his favourite teacher. We had to withdraw due to a change of plans. I would really recommend Nova Montessori.

5. River East Montessori School – Roch Street

Address: 1115 Roch Street
Contact: 204-306-5666 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
River East Montessori School makes preschool scheduling unusually flexible, which is a win for families whose weeks don’t fit neatly into one routine. Parents can choose two to five full days, or opt for morning or afternoon half-day sessions.
Its Roch Street preschool classrooms maintain a 1:8 teacher-to-child ratio, giving educators more room to notice individual interests. Children are encouraged to work independently, care for their surroundings, and learn at a steady pace.
There’s a second Winnipeg campus as well, plus a summer camp for families wanting continuity beyond the regular school year.
That mix of flexibility and Montessori structure makes the programme easier to fit around family life.
Do note that the standard full-day programme runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Earlier drop-offs or later pickups cost extra, so extended care can bump up the monthly bill.
“Safe, structured, and nurturing environment”
I had a wonderful experience with this Montessori, and I feel confident recommending it to other families, especially working parents looking for a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for their children.
This program played a huge role in preparing my daughter for preschool and kindergarten. The focus on independence, routine, early learning skills, and social development truly shows. I noticed a significant improvement in her confidence, readiness to learn, and ability to follow structure things that are so important when transitioning into a school setting.
Harpreet, the owner, is extremely involved, attentive, and dedicated…
