We stopped by last week and ordered a velvety latte made with a guest roast from Montreal. The barista explained how they swap out their selections to keep things fresh.
They also partner with nearby neighborhood bakeries to keep their pastry case filled with sweet treats. It’s a wonderful setup for a morning pick-me-up.
For added convenience, they even offer custom subscription boxes that bring these unique national profiles straight to your door.
On the flip side, the space itself is famously tiny. Finding a vacant table during the morning rush can be a challenge.

Consistently great espresso in a cozy Winnipeg spot
One of my favorite coffee shops in Winnipeg. Great espresso coffee which has a deep, rich, chocolatey taste. Drinks are always consistently prepared and if there are any problems, staff are eager to make it right. Atmosphere is very nice without it being too forced- cool. Location is in a great part of town and a nice destination to walk to from the Forks. My only complaint is that it closes too early on weekends.

A cute and friendly cafe with amazing matcha
this is mine and my partners favourite place! everyone is so kind and friendly, it is the cutest cafe! i always get the matcha latte and they have a gluten free and vegan cookie that is amazing! they also do the cutest latte art and it is overall our favourite spot!

Thom Bargen Coffee Roasters makes it much easier to find a consistent cup of coffee because their local team handles the entire production process themselves.
They operate their own dedicated roastery and full-scale production bakery out of their Kennedy Street headquarters.
It’s also worth knowing that they roast fresh beans four days a week. That level of operational control means you get exceptionally fresh pastries and expertly roasted drinks.
Just be aware that their menu items can vary quite a bit depending on which neighborhood you visit.
For instance, you can only grab evening wine or specialized cocktails after 5:00 PM at their Corydon or Tuxedo lounges. If you end up at one of the smaller shops, you’ll miss out on that evening drink menu altogether.

Fresh roasted coffee with a warm local atmosphere
If you are looking for a variety of great tasting fresh roasted coffee, served by a staff that is both personable and friendly and who clearly enjoy where they work, I highly recommend the Thom Bargen Coffee Roasters at 64 Sherbrooke St. Naturally there is a cost for the coffee, but the variety of eclectic background music and the warm atmosphere are free.

Quiet coffee spot for oat mochas and quick meetings
Great spot for an oat mocha for those who are lactose intolerant. The atmosphere is usually quiet and focussed. A good place to meet a friend, colleague for a quick meeting, or do some deep work. No parking on the street from 7-9am, so plan to park off Sherbrook. Also a good place to stop for a quick take out coffee on your way downtown.

A coworker told me that the staff at the Osborne Street location is incredibly welcoming. That specific shop also features full wheelchair accessibility for guests.
However, both locations operate strictly during daytime hours, closing by 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM.

Frequent this place a few times a week as I live in the neighborhood, LOVE their espresso and drink options. Im a huge fan of their newer hoijicha lattes!!! Space is v small so it can be a gamble getting a seat during more peak hours, but worth the wait. Adore how Little Sister is a local roaster as well <3

Amazing coffee, quality pastries, and welcoming staff
The coffee is always on point and amazing, mocha is the best in the city by far and the drip is great. Pastries are really high quality too. Rich oat lattes and savoury scones in the exchange
Pretty stoked when I saw that Más was opening up in my neighborhood. Been back numerous times for their oat latte and their savoury scone. The latte was rich in flavour and the scone was a perfect pairing. Both are now starting to become a staple for my mornings. Cozy campus coffee spot with warm service
I absolutely love this place; it’s such a cozy and warm environment to study or have a simple coffee with a friend. I love the coffee con miel and lattes here, and that’s coming from a person who doesn’t like coffee much. And the staff is always welcoming and kind. To keep local support going, they fill their food menu with items from neighborhood kitchens, ranging from fresh pastries to savory dishes. Definitely grab a house-made egg sandwich and a cup of coffee here for a relaxing time.
However, Seven Café operates only from one location in the West End. It can be a trek if you’re on the other side of the city.

Smooth espresso and lovely service are worth coming back for
I tried this cafe for the first time today and was extremely happy with the service, as well as the quality. I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte, and it was so so delicious. Since moving here, I haven’t found a coffee spot that compares to my favorite back home until trying this cafe. The espresso was very smooth, and the employee working was so lovely. I seriously recommend this place! I definitely will be back :))
