5 Best Asian Restaurants in Winnipeg That Deserve a Reservation

Flavor: I looked for places that serve fresh, authentic Asian food with rich, balanced flavors. The best spots made every dish taste full of flavor instead of being overly salty or spicy.

Menu Variety: I checked if each restaurant offered plenty of choices for different tastes and dietary needs. I gave extra credit to places with noodles, rice dishes, vegan meals, and other popular favorites.

Value for Money: I compared portion sizes, food quality, and prices. I focused on restaurants that serve satisfying meals at fair prices.

Dining Atmosphere: I also paid attention to how each restaurant felt during a visit. Clean, welcoming, and comfortable spaces earned higher marks because they make every meal more enjoyable.

Winnipeg’s dining scene offers something for every occasion, from elegant fine dining restaurants to casual local favorites.

If you’re craving Asian cuisine, you’ll also find plenty of excellent sushi restaurants, along with spots serving comforting noodles, flavorful stir-fries, and authentic regional specialties.

With so many places to choose from, I rounded up the best Asian restaurants in Winnipeg to highlight the ones that truly stand out for their food, service, and atmosphere.

“Consistently Great Food and Staff”

Been here twice and both times were great. I had the thin crust stir fry the first time and made my own stir fry the second time. Super nice staff that are friendly and helpful. Prices are great for the amount of food you get and they make it fresh right in front of your eyes. Try it out. Even the wife liked it.

“Perfectly Cooked Stir Fry Dishes”

Love these guys and what they made with this place. The food was cooked to perfection, we loved our thin crust stir fry, the chicken was gone before I could have a second look at them. My munchkins love their mango shakes with the unique bubbles and cannot get enough chicken. Give these guy’s a visit, you will not be disappointed… The art works inside, tell a story itself! Well done, keep up the good food! ❤️🙏

“Best Chinese Food in Winnipeg”

Best Chinese in Wpg. I recommend the Deluxe Cantonese chow mein, deep fried breaded shrimp, chicken balls and they have the best breaded veal. The breaded ribs and ginger beef is good to. Egg rolls and wontons are awesome too, wonton have the little meat that most places don’t do anymore.

“Reliable Favorite for Chinese Food”

This place is my partners and I favourite Chinese place! We order every month or two.  Portions are large, great prices, fast service, and the lady who always takes our order has excellent customer service skills.  Some favourites are: mixed vegetables w/chicken and almonds, lemon chicken, chop suey with bbq pork, bacon wrapped shrimp, beef hofan noodles in black bean sauce, Singapore chow Mai, and the curry.

“Top Quality Dim Sum Destination”

Best dim sum in the Peg and I would say all across Canada. Shrimp dumplings, rice rolls, and fish/shrimp dumpling in clear soup broth are to die for. Fresh made to order. If you want best quality dim sum this is it. If you want pushcarts and low quality dim sum, don’t come here.

“Quick Service and Delicious Dimsum”

This a pretty good place for chinese food. We went around 2 pm and it was just us and another table finishing up. We had some dimsum which came real quick. We also had some beff curry, fried rice, fried pork riblets. The curry was ok, but the fried riblets and fried rice was delicious. My kids enjoyed them.

The dimsum we had was the pork siomai, noodles wrapped in tofu, steamed spare ribs, chicken feet and panfried radish cake. So good!

Lucky Koi Express Chinese Restaurant stands out for making gluten-free dining easier. They don’t leave out familiar Chinese favorites.

From what I’ve seen, the menus have picks like crispy beef and noodles. Vegetable oil cooking also gives guests more options for dietary needs.

On top of that, they use classic wok-hay cooking for a smoky taste, while keeping dishes fresh and well-made.

Another plus is that an in-house delivery team makes ordering easy, especially for guests who like meals at home.

“Highly Recommended Ginger Beef”

A tourism Winnipeg article popped up in my google feed this morning with a glowing review. We ordered for our first time and we will be going back. Best ginger beef we have had in years. Loved the beef and broccoli and the lucky chow mein. Friendly service and ready when scheduled. Great job.

“Favorite Spot for Chinese Takeout”

We LOVE Lucky Koi! It’s not in our area but we don’t care. It’s the only Chinese restaurant we order from. The breaded shrimp is especially good. Also the beef chow mein is nice and colorful with veggies, not just cabbage like other restaurants do. The added plus is the black reusable containers they come in. We have a stack at home that’s perfect for meal planning. 👍
